Our Invitation to You

We of Overeaters Anonymous (OA) have made a discovery. At the very first meeting we attended, we learned that we were in the clutches of a dangerous illness, and that willpower, emotional health and self-confidence, which some of us had once possessed, were no defense against it.

We have found that the reasons for the illness are unimportant. What deserves the attention of the still-suffering compulsive overeater is this: there is a proven, workable method by which we can arrest our illness.

The Promises

New Hampshire Intergroup publishes a newsletter, "The Promises". In its pages you'll find information about upcoming OA events & stories submitted by members describing their experience in OA.

7th Tradition

Our Seventh Tradition states that "Every OA group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions." Therefore, without the monetary contributions of our members, it would not be possible for NHI to serve its member groups.

Welcome Home

Overeaters Anonymous offers a program of recovery from compulsive overeating, binge eating and other eating disorders using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA. Worldwide meetings and other Tools provide a fellowship of experience, strength and hope where members respect one another’s anonymity. OA charges no dues or fees; it is self-supporting through member contributions.

OA is not just about weight loss, weight gain, maintenance, obesity or diets. It addresses physical, emotional & spiritual well-being. It is not a religious organization & does not promote any particular diet.

OA members differ in many ways, but we are united by our common disease and the solution we have found in the OA program. We practice unity with diversity, and we welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. Welcome to Overeaters Anonymous. Welcome home.

Carry the message

Interested in NHI? Come to our next meeting to discover how you can us join us. We are always looking for fellows to help us carry the message!
